ABOUT
The Metamodern Arts Festival aims to be somewhat like the “World’s Fair” was for modern society during the period of industrialization (1851-1938). But the World’s Fair today is mostly for the PR of nations – we’re going back to the core, as in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The festival will feel bold, rich, high-tech, science-oriented, culturally refined, emotionally compelling.
Metamodern themes include sincere irony, informed naivety, magical realism, deep ecology, big history, augmented reality, transdisciplinary scholarship, solarpunk, afrofuturism, participatory and performance art, magick, and gamification.
